Today I wanted to bring you a little roundup of recent ERP-related articles of interest. So without further ado...
The first item is actually a video rather than an article. It comes from Inquirer.net:

We have seen that many ERP implementation fail and many more fail to deliver the promised results. What is behind ERP disasters? Most implementation experts have pointed out that the main culprit of failed ERP implementations is the end-user training. Experts say that the technical training of the core team of people who are installing the software is done properly and there is no problem in that aspect. It is the education of the broad user community of managers and employees who are supposed to actually run the business with it that is not done properly resulting in the wrong and improper usage of the system.

Cimnet has updated its ERP Suite. Managing Automation tells us about it:
Cimnet, a business unit of Consona Corp., deals with two types of PCB companies: low-volume producers based primarily in North America and Europe, and high-volume, Asia-based companies. Certain enhancements in the updated products have been tailored for these customers, Cimnet General Manager Mehul Dave told Managing Automation.
For example, the 3.5 version of Paradigm, Cimnet's main ERP offering, includes enhancements related to currency exchange rates, inventory inspection and consignment management, and shop floor process management, which are of specific interest to the company's high-volume Asian customers. A large number of Cimnet's 150 customers are based in China, Dave said, and the region remains the company's fastest-growing segment....
