Feature-Rich XTuple ERP 3.3 Launches

By Doug Caverly

Following seven months of development, xTuple ERP 3.3 has been released, and small- and medium-sized businesses are supposed to reap some significant benefits as a result. Indeed, the maker of the open source ERP software has gotten a nod from an international organization representing them.

What sort of honor did xTuple receive? Well, the International Council for Small Business chose to partner with it, and plans to encourage its members to use xTuple ERP 3.3.

Ayman El Tarabishy, the group's executive director, explained in a statement, "The ICSB and xTuple have a common goal of sharing best practices to help small businesses grow and thrive. We believe the open source development process, combined with xTuple's global community of innovators and entrepreneurs, offers a tremendous opportunity for small businesses to acquire leading-edge technology and expertise at very little, if any, cost."

As for what, exactly, went into xTuple ERP 3.3, a tax management system is perhaps the biggest draw. Over 100 other product enhancements are supposed to be present, too, including improved support for email integration, the consolidation of all customer info into a single screen, and numerous accounting-related usability requests.

Sitwell Furniture General Controller Alfredo Martinez confirmed the quality of everything by saying, "[W]e have an ERP system that is well-tuned to even our most demanding business processes."
