SYSPRO Claims 'Quantum Leap' In ERP Software

By Doug Caverly

Enterprise resource planning software may be poised to take a big step forward. A quantum leap, even, according to SYSPRO, which today announced that SYSPRO 6.1 will be released sometime in the relatively near future.

SYSPRO CEO Phil Duff explained in a statement that SYSPRO 6.1 "contains over a thousand new customer-requested features and functions," which is quite a lot, and that it is designed to suit "industry trends and customer needs, including 'green orientation.'"

Duff also promised, "It exemplifies SYSPRO's long standing policy of seeking customer input at every level to ensure that our software enhancements maximize the customers' competitive advantages in their respective markets."

Unfortunately, since SYSPRO hasn't chosen to share exactly when SYSPRO 6.1 will become available, it's hard to say when people will be able to evaluate (and/or buy) the software for themselves. The issue of cost wasn't addressed in an official press release, either.

Still, it looks like SYSPRO's counting on satisfying all of its current customers and upping the industry-wide standard, too, so it's probable that SYSPRO 6.1 will debut soon and be priced competitively. SYSPRO would not doubt prefer it if its quantum leap leaves other companies behind.
